Group Captain Sachin Tendulkar, For his glorious contribution to the gentleman’s game, cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar was conferred the honorary rank of group captain by Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal P. V. Naik at a function here on Friday.
“It has indeed been a dream come true to get honoured by the IAF [Indian Air Force] and be a part of the great air warrior family. From the most crucial challenge of defending the nation from any external aggression to providing humanitarian assistance and disaster relief at times of crisis, the Air Force has always played its role with competence,” said Mr. Tendulkar.
Admitting his fondness for fighter planes, the cricketer recalled how in 1996 he got an opportunity to fly a fighter plane in South Africa. “It was a frightening experience. I was told to eject out of the aircraft if something went wrong, it would only lead to a broken elbow.”
Referring to the alleged involvement of three Pakistani cricketers in spot fixing in England, Mr. Tendulkar later told the journalists that integrity was extremely important in sports.
Earlier Air Chief Marshal Naik said that during his entire cricketing career, Mr. Tendulkar had not been involved in any controversy. “Like the IAF, he has single minded devotion to duty, dedication and perseverance and courage under adversity.”

Mamta Kulkarni Hot Videos: Kulkarni made her Bollywood film debut in the 1992 movie Tiranga. In 1993 she starred in Aashiq Awara which won her a Filmfare Lux New Face Award. She went to appear in many other films such as Waqt Hamara Hai (1993), Krantiveer (1994), Karan Arjun (1995), Sabse Bada Khiladi (1995) and Ghatak: Lethal (1995) which did well at the box office.
Her luck seemed to have changed when Rajkumar Santoshi, in whose earlier movie Ghatak: Lethal (1996) she had a cameo appearance, cast her as the female lead in his 1998 movie China Gate, an ambitious remake of The Magnificent Seven. In a deglamourised role and sharing screen space with some of Hindi cinemas finest actors, she had the perfect opportunity to showcase her acting talent.

Bale Pandiya Review, Devan Ekambaram, who has been a singer and occasional actor (Parthiban Kanavu, Unnale unnale), makes his debut as a music director in Bale Pandiya, an impressive album with some addictive numbers.
The pick of the album for me is “Happy”, a capella song. The interesting aspects of this song are, the song has no music in the background, sung by 20 singers and the lyrics by Thamarai. A good amount of innovation has gone in. As the title implies, this song is sure to make listeners ‘Happy’
‘Sirikkiren’, instrumental (Violin) version is a rocking stuff while the actual song is quite a fun to listen. Aaradha kobamillai and Kangale Kamalalayam are neat melodies with mild orchestration, excellently rendered by Raman Mahadevan and Mahalakshmi Iyer (Oh. We missed you) in the former and Unnikrishnan and Mrinalini in the latter.

Cammie King Conlon, who jokingly lamented that she was famous for an experience she barely remembered, portraying Scarlett O’Hara and Rhett Butler’s ill-fated young daughter in the film “Gone With the Wind,” has died. She was 76.
Conlon, whose brief movie-acting career included voicing the fawn Faline in “Bambi,” died Wednesday of cancer at her home in Ft. Bragg, Calif., said Bruce Lewis, a friend.
At 4, she was cast as Bonnie Blue Butler for her resemblance to her film-screen parents — Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable — but her memories of making the epic 1939 Civil War saga were vague, more like “snapshots,” she often said.
She had adored the black Shetland pony that she rode and recalled how perplexed she was when she spotted what looked like a little girl, dressed exactly as she was, smoking a cigarette on the set.
The actor was an adult male, a little person who was her stunt double when Bonnie Blue falls from her pony, which causes her death and a pivotal plot point — Rhett’s profound depression.
In the death scene that followed, she couldn’t keep her eyelids from fluttering and wore a death mask when Gable picked her up. She was so frightened when the mask was being made, her tears left visible imprints on it, Conlon later said.

Double Rainbow Guy: Paul “Bear” Vasquez, the man who famously saw a double rainbow all the way across the sky, has extended his day in the sun by starring in some new Microsoft ads. The first ad recreates the double rainbow event from a new angle, and then shows Bear putting the photos on Windows Live Gallery. The second one is an interview with Bear that ends with an endorsement of Windows Live.
So, has Double Rainbow Guy sold out? Possibly. Probably. Does it even matter, though? I hope the guy who brought us one of the year’s best memes got a nice payday out of the deal. Microsoft definitely wins by getting Bear on board, too: who better to convince customers that their product is “oh my god so intense?”
